Sourcing & Quality

A short, direct path from Sri Lanka to Europe

Every step of our supply chain is built around one goal: preserving the authentic quality of Ceylon spices.

Our supply chain

Direct from Sri Lankan growers

We work directly with growers and processors in Sri Lanka's spice-growing regions, rather than buying through multiple layers of brokers. This keeps our supply chain short, transparent, and easier to control for quality — from harvest, to processing, to export.

Each shipment is prepared with care in Sri Lanka before making its way to our base in the Netherlands, from where we distribute across the Dutch market and the rest of Europe.

What quality means to us

Our Quality Standards

True Ceylon Cinnamon

We specialise in genuine Ceylon Cinnamon, distinct from the cassia cinnamon found in most supermarkets — lighter, more delicately aromatic, and lower in coumarin.

Premium Quality Grading

Our cinnamon, black pepper, and cloves are selected and graded for premium quality before packing, so what reaches you matches what left Sri Lanka.

Organic-Grade Sourcing

Where available, we prioritise organic-grade spices, grown and processed with minimal intervention to preserve natural flavour and aroma.

Straight from the source

From Harvest to Bark

1. Cut

Cinnamon branches are harvested by hand in Sri Lanka's spice gardens.

2. Strip

Branches are trimmed and the bark is separated from the wood.

3. Peel

Skilled hands peel the thin inner bark layer that becomes true cinnamon.

4. Roll

The bark is hand-rolled into the quills that fill every Spring Ceylon pack.

Freshness & packaging

Packed to protect aroma and flavour

Spices lose their character quickly once exposed to air, light, and moisture. We pack our cinnamon, pepper, and cloves promptly after grading, sealing in the aroma that makes true Ceylon spices worth seeking out.

The result is a product that tastes as close as possible to standing in a Sri Lankan spice garden — whichever European kitchen it ends up in.
